NEW YORK, NY, April 11, 2017 – CBS RADIO today is launching a new podcast hosted by the controversial and often villainized Olivia Caridi, a season 20 contestant on the popular reality dating show, “The Bachelor.” On each episode of “Mouthing Off with Olivia Caridi” Olivia will welcome actors, friends and fellow reality TV and internet stars to dish about love, relationships and navigating the ups and downs of being single and dating. Every Tuesday, a new 45-to-60-minute episode will be available on Play.it, CBS RADIO’s exclusive podcast network, and iTunes.
“Olivia’s outspoken, honest and witty personality coupled with her background in journalism, make her the perfect podcast host,” said J.D. Crowley, CBS RADIO’s EVP of Digital. “During each conversation, Olivia’s own relatable yet quirky tales of dating and relationships engage guests to open up and even dish on the people, situations and trends driving today’s pop culture scene.”
Caridi added, “I’ve worked in broadcast media for a long time, and podcasting is the one thing I’ve never done, so I’m so excited to be launching Mouthing Off with so much support behind me. Obviously my mouth was a big deal on ‘The Bachelor,’ so I’m thrilled CBS Radio helped me to develop a show idea around it and was totally in tune with my vision. Now everyone gets to listen to my interviews with various celebrities and reality stars and hear me put my big mouth to good use!”
In today’s debut episode, Olivia welcomes Shep Rose, a wealthy, charming, and presently single, businessman on “Southern Charm.” The two delve into their personal dating stories as well as the drama currently unfolding on the show. Olivia’s future guests include Scheana Marie from “Vanderpump Rules” (April 18); veteran reality TV star Kendra Wilkinson (“The Girls Next Door,” “Kendra,” “Kendra on Top”; April 25); and Lala Kent from “Vanderpump Rules” (May 2).
Complementing each interview, guests will take part in one of several fun and interactive segments, including “Mouthing Off” where they will have one minute to speak out on a topic of their choosing, similar to Olivia’s epic rants on “The Bachelor.” Guests will also take part in various challenges, including “Urban Dictionary Challenge” where they will be tasked with guessing the correct definition of a word or phrase from the Urban Dictionary.
Olivia attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Journalism with a broadcast emphasis and a minor in English.
During her college years, she was very involved in TCU’s news operations. She served as the Director of TCU News Now, the university’s weekly television program. She was also the Executive Editor of TCU360, the school’s online digital news source. Olivia also interned at WFAA-TV Channel 8 in Dallas and at Fox Sports Southwest in Irving.
Days after graduating college in 2014, Olivia was on the road to Bristol, Virginia, where she landed her first job as a general assignment reporter at WCYB/WEMT-TV. The station, which serves the Tri-Cities region, is the top-rated news source for both the NBC and FOX affiliates.
In just two months, Olivia served as the weekend morning anchor position and then the main anchor of the weekend evening news at NBC, and then as the main anchor for FOX, and then returned to NBC.
Olivia also loves to interact with the community and speak to youth at nearby high schools and colleges to share her story and inspire others to follow their broadcast dreams.
After nearly 18 months on the job, Olivia was offered the very unique opportunity to be a contestant on Season 20 of ABC’s show, “The Bachelor.” She joined the program in the hopes of finding love, but also ended up gaining a keen understanding of the appeal of reality television to modern day audiences.
