KROQ’S Lisa Worden Named To Billboard’s ‘Women In Music’ Power Player List For Fourth Year In A Row

Billboard, the essential magazine for the music business, announced the influencers on their ninth annual Power Player list of ‘Women in Music’.  Among the heavy-hitters in the music and business world is Lisa Worden, Assistant Program Director and Music Director of CBS RADIO’s KROQ in Los Angeles.  This marks Worden’s fourth consecutive year featured on the prominent list, a who’s who of female leaders in the music industry.


Billboard’s Women in Music issue highlights the hardworking women making a difference and driving the industry forward.  Hundreds of nominations were submitted to the publication, which collected and ranked the entrants.


Worden, who has been an influential fixture at the World Famous KROQ for nearly 19 years, is known throughout the radio and alternative music world for her support and intuition in breaking bands and songs and her relationship with labels and artists.  One of her most recent accomplishments to date is launching and booking bands for KROQ’s Red Bull Sound Space, an intimate, on-going concert series featuring up and coming artists in the rock world and webcast on


Worden spoke of her involvement at KROQ to Billboard saying, “The thing I’m most proud of is that I’m involved in every aspect of the station and we continue to be the dominant rock station in L.A.”


In addition to the special issue of Billboard, on newsstands now, honorees will be celebrated today at a special ‘Women in Music Event’ in New York City.  The event will also recognize P!nk as Billboard’s Woman of the Year for her accomplishments as a successful and empowering woman in the music business, while Janelle Monae has been named Rising Star by the magazine.
